Hey, I heard that the company is doing their yearly layoffs again this year (same time as this last year, February/March), except this time they are going to give 2 months notice instead of one. So probably right after Christmas. Anyone else heard this? I overheard my manager talking.

Congrats! No you can smell the fresh roses outside that toxicity and finally get on with life.
Yup, it happened. I was one of them, high performing SCADA Engineer; 12 years. Happened mid-September.
EFFING toxic workplace now; ALL DEI: 60-70% are from India too.
EFF THEM. That boat is going to sink - I know it, I was training two of them to take over the middleware. Incompetent fux.
Hope they do, so those that are actually talented and care about what they do get a second chance to shine in their careers. Thousands are enduring selfish, toxic and suppressive leadership.
I’d love a vdo
This has to be true. If anyone at Enbridge has ever worked for another gulf coast-based (non-Canadian) competitor, you would probably realize that it's quite the norm to do a lot more work with a lot less people. I'm looking forward to a leaner and meaner Enbridge with a reasonable amount of people in project meetings and reasonably sized project teams for a change. GE knows what it takes to be successful in the Gulf Coast and the status quo and org structure of Enbridge is not it. This is not what people want to hear, but when it comes to working at a publicly traded company, money talks and metrics like EBITDA rule.

They absolutely did not get rid of poor performers.
Not in VPC in Toronto anyway.
If we do have layoffs and if they’re smart about it, they’ll do another VWO. We got rid of the “low hanging fruit” (e.g. low performers, problems and those without enough to do) during the last layoff. To minimize the carnage among good employees, start the next layoff with volunteers (there will be plenty). This is sure to capture some senior people and leadership positions which opens doors for the rest of us so we don’t have to leave the company for an advancement opportunity which doesn’t come often in the current Enbridge.
90 VPs in this organization. Let's start the cuts there.
agree that my new company has zero comments. people are busy working instead of stupid meetings. no BS. glad i am out of that he-l.
November is a possibility. Expect next year more it will occur.
Best to prepare for the inevitable
Amen to the last comment, only Enbridge owns a layoff chat site lol. Great reflection of the so called leaders in our company pathetic.
It’s sad that amongst other midstream companies only Enbridge is viral on the lay-off website
Execs destroyed this place. Constant layoffs or rumors of layoffs while they soak up bonuses.
Managers wouldn’t know if this was coming or not, just like they didn’t know last time.
One can hope this may be another VWO
I thought the next round is November 2024 similar to November 2023.
