Any predictions on Q1?
Will this be a nail in the coffin for JD. Will it be his redemption?
If he does announce his departure, will that bring another significant reorganization?

I think it’s Fundamental for SLT to honestly acknowledge the mistakes and NAME them. At the All Employees Call. Without Comms team writing you a polished corporate script. Without that I can’t see how they can restore Trust and at least a bit of confidence in the Path ahead.
New Sales lead tried to do it. With some sarcasm and a bit of veiled criticism of the previous management decisions. But he is “new”.
What about you, JD and HON? Can you do that? Cause we’re suffocating out there.
Since no concerted effort is going on to re-establish business with wholesale customers, would expect results to continue to be flat. Getting your mojo & confidence back is a bi--h, and like any journey doesn’t begin without taking steps in the right direction and getting people to buy in and believe again. Confidence & Trust is easy to lose, and hard to get back. Possible? Yes. Without sincerity? Much-much-much harder to do.
Our hope is an "outsider" that used to be an insider. If they're smart, they'll look and court those who opposed the "strategy" that got us into this sh*t storm.
Starbucks earnings popped because they hired chipotle Exec. Now getting plastered because he’s flying back and forth between Southern Cal and Seattle every week.
No good answer here but better than keeping the same path. Ultimately - someone internally is going to get the Job and someone on here will be upset then post negative things. That will influence all of us then 4 years from now we’ll be talking about the same thing.
Ah Nike.
When is the next earnings call?
When we announce earnings - it will be a bloodbath. And then BOD might announce the CEO departure, and shares might pop up like they did in Starbucks’ case. Way too much anticipation and discussion about the urgent need to kick out JD. But it will depend whom they will choose.
Looking around - there is not a lot, if any, choice from within. All those who were against the McKinsey “strategy” were let go or left on their own. Only conformists remained. When was the last time somebody presented like a true human being and not fake corporate talk head on the stage?
They didn’t publicly admitted that their strategy failed. And the new one looks like just a reversal of almost everything they ki-led during CDA.
No one dated to publicly speak up about it.
Insider CEO is ki-led during last few reorganizations.
My prediction, is that they will bring somebody from the outside.
Or they fast track AC, CG, AM or CS…
People posting CW?? I agree there is no good answer, but he destroyed Brand Jordan. Flooded the market with ugly versions of retros, didn’t leave the consumer wanting more, turned it into a commodity or Always Available. Terrible strategist who doesn’t understand the brand enough to be CEO.
Anyone who has been observing leadership changes over the past few years and is being truthful with themselves knows that we lack real successors because we either fired all the potential next CEOs or prioritized diversity and inclusion over them, leading them to leave.
Also I wouldn’t really consider CW an “insider” when he’s only been here like 5 years… that’s still an infant at Nike…
Isn’t CW the guy who obliterated our Jordan franchises…
I think he stumbles through a quarter or two. New CEO announcement in Q3, it’s going to be CW. In the game of Nike succession, it cannot be HON and cannot be an outsider, and cannot resurrect a past leader.
Then buckle up if you’re still here for the crazy show FY26 will be. At least another global re org in FY26, then hopefully things settle until 2030.
Oh and the earth is getting hotter at an alarming rate so none of this really matters does it?
Probably Q3 is the nail in the coffin. Guidance was for negative growth in first half and return to growth starting in second half. Once it’s clear that’s not happening, not even PK will be able to save JD.
If they switch CEO and hire outside, yes... definitely another reorganization. Likely greater than the last one. Might be stable for a year but definitely removing talent will be a key target.
Sadly want bad earnings …hoping it’s the last straw
