Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Do Hospitals Offer Stability?

Are hospitals relatively stable regarding employment? I don’t want to work for another health insurance company (UHC, Optum, etc), but I still want to stay in the healthcare industry. Would a hospital be the next best option?

It depends on your education and licensing. Are you a licensed RN with a Bachelor's, or Social Worker with a Master's? Medical Social Workers and RNs are always needed at Hospitals.

There will always be layoffs and instability wherever you go. Focus on your qualifications so that at anytime you're laid off, you can find a new job.

Look at physician practices owned by hospitals they are generally looking for staff for scheduling etc.

What do you do? Hospitals always need cleaners but don't often require rocket scientists.
