Remember - DDAT does not stand for Gender - Equity - Inclusion or Gender Equality 101. It stands for > Digital - Data - Analytics - Technology. - If that is so, why does every single call revolve around the dangers of mis-gendering someone??
The laser focus we have on these calls in regards to race, gender neutrality, misgendering, gender neutral nouns, gender pronouns, saying the right thing, all genders getting period care, gender affirming signals, images of people that may or may not be a male/female. Where did all this come from? Why is this considered DDAT?
CVS has spent millions of dollars on making sure we don't assume peoples identity. How did we get here?
There are so many terms that they want everyone to follow, how can anyone be in the know at any one time? I get the attention given to Designing websites for people with disabilities; but the constant belaboring of non-binary identification or transgender etiquette is what encompasses the largest part of every meeting.
Nothing wrong with learning some new definitions that were created in the last few years.... until you realize that your ability to familiarize yourself and follow the definition has to be 100% precise. One wrong comment to someone, and you can kiss your job goodbye!!
