Thread regarding SAP layoffs

What did Juergen Mueller do?

Fired from the executive board for "inappropriate behaviour at a recent company event". Yet in the same email telling us this, the SAP supervisory board wish him well in the future and thank him for his accomplishments...

Surely they aren't thanking and wishing well to a s-x pest... So it makes me wonder what his inappropriate behaviour was?

They just gave him a new contract and we're going all in on him as CTO for the BTP revolution, so it must have been pretty serious.

It was already confirmed by SAP Press that after an injury in his left leg, he was not running simple anymore.

There was never any BTP revolution and there will never be, with or without him. There was a BTP Price evolution though.

Unlike this comment only if you know a service which runs in an SAP Infrastructure and which does not have any cheaper and similar service in any other cloud provider.

You guys may never find out. SAP is never going to divulge the inappropriate behaviour because it will damage the company's reputation and therefore, stock price etc. especially if it is occurring at the board level. The last thing it needs is a scandal with 3 board members gone and CK the emperor of SAP.

Whatever answer in this forum, the true reason may never be known. Every comment here will be purely speculative, and the only way to know for sure is an official response from SAP, which will never happen due to the aforementioned reasons.

His own statement was "being inconsiderate". Could it be DEI related or something related to being politically correct.

Would you find it shocking if Gero becomes a board member now that three board members have left?

There were rumors a few years back around inappropriate behavior at company events. Where there is smoke there is usually fire

Pretty disappointing. He was pretty well liked as CTO and always struck me as a conscientious and empathic leader.

Juergen's statement : “I want to address an incident at a past company event where my behavior was inappropriate. I regret being inconsiderate and sincerely apologize to everyone affected. I recognize my behavior at that moment did not reflect our values at SAP. I take full responsibility and believe stepping down is best for the company. I wish the team continued success,”
