Bingo! What Stankey wants is to break the employees back so they leave. There are no real estate tax breaks in ATL, and probably not in the most of the other hubs. The company is down thousands of employees in every location, even Dallas, and cannot get to the numbers needed to garner the tax breaks.

T is not getting any tax breaks in the ATL due to the location of the buildings. T has sold all the buildings in ATL and reduced the head count so much that there is no way to get to sizeable numbers in what is the City of Atlanta.
The Lenox complex is right on the line of Dekalb and Fulton County, so if the employees go out for lunch they spend money in Fulton Co but work in Dekalb Co. The Dekalb CEO Levitan (many year ago) knew this would be the case so she did not give BLS any tax breaks for building in the Lenox Park location.
Alpharetta is the other location and most employees do not want to have to travel to a second location to work. So, there is no way to get any critical mass in the ATL to garner tax breaks anymore.

Tax breaks are tied to occupancy rates / companies made deals to get those favorable tax rates. Easy example - Apple’s HQ campus in Cupertino. JP Morgan is building a flagship new building in New York City. It’s all about money basically. If your going to the office, you will have gas expenses, going out for when you don't pack lunch, dry cleaning if ur in an office setting, and so on. So companies are being encouraged to RTO. OR T is just a micromaging A**shole.

If it were about the tax break contractors would be required in office 5 days a week

I wish the media would just shut up about it!! Our execs are already on the warpath to crack down on every micro-management scheme and tool there is , they’ll love to jump on anything else making the news

Its tax break for their real estate, sole purpose of the RTO. I dont like it, nobody likes it. Its not about the talent, or getting the best of the best, its all about the money. T is a conglomerate and the gov will always bail them.

Everyone hates RTO. One way or another all companies will eventually have to accept it or simply sacrifice their potential pool of talent for consideration.
