Does anyone know if AT&T pays out your yearly bonus for the year if you resign? For instance, if I turn in my resignation in December will they pay me the bonus for the year? How about if I resign in January? What are the rules around bonus..

No. I resigned November 2019. I received no bonus for the year.
You quit you get nothing
There’s this thing called HR Onestop that will provide all the details you need.
HR here. Pop over to HR One Stop for the full deets. If you are severance eligible (surplus/layoff) or retirement eligible and leave, you will get your bonus in Mar 2025. If you voluntarily quit, resign, or are terminated, you get nothing. The bonuses for people that quit is distributed to the AVPs to keep or use for connection awards.
Worth mentioning that if you get "re-badged" to another company during the year, you still get the prorated bonus.
It's paid out in quarterly increments over a 5 year payment plan. We actually hope you pass away in order for us to collect from the life insurance plan we have on you and every employee, past, present and future.
Yep, you get the bonus if, and only if, you’re on payroll on December 31. (Or maybe January 2.)
I’ve known quite a few people who have left for new jobs in January for this reason.
If you leave before January 1st, you will NOT get the bonus in March.
If you stay past December 31st you WILL get the bonus in March.
However, If you are laid off before December you will get the bonus but it will be pro-rated.
Bonus payout is prorated per calendar year using simple math. Divide by 12 and the remainder goes into Stankeys piggy bank to save up to buy America Online or MySpace.
You forfeit the bonus until after you get it
