Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

CTO is turning this place into Amazon

she doesn't know much else, didn't have a career beyond Amazon and drinks the amazon kool aid trying to implement it here.... she's brought in a new second in command from amazon and failed flexport.... he's her bulldog its clear to see in tech PMO.... no one trusts her... her directs are hanging on to their jobs and walking on eggshells, right where she wants them...

we about to see major changes y'all....

@pww+1uerSlO0 everyone has a choice to leave. If they are desperate to stay in a situation keeping their quiet, I do not have respect for them.

Sounds delousinal, but maybe we can finally turn a corner instead of just complaining about every hire. I’m with that poster below. Tech leadership for engineering FTW.

Glass half full….

“ A tech leader being hired in tech is a good thing for everybody…”

I don’t disagree that the CIO’s experience looks strong, but finishing with this last quip above sounds delusional after witnessing the last 2+ years in Nike tech hiring.

You lost all credibility on this post when you said she brought in the new CIO from Amazon. That guy has never worked there or worked with her in the past. Try to researcg.

I have only interacted with him once, but he gets rave reviews from everyone else that I’ve talked to about him that has worked with him so far. Maybe just once we should be excited about a new person instead of immediately assuming the worst. Don’t let your own insecurity be your downfall.

A tech leader being hired in tech is a good thing for everybody…

Well, everyone that questioned or spoke anything differently than what she wanted to hear was let go in Feb or Apr….

Her directs are people that decided to stay quiet and keep their jobs instead of doing what was right for Nike… same as they did under RL

Too bad for the rest of the team… hard working people left without any real leaders to support them
