Make a note: When any executive comes to visit a site, it usually means layoffs are to follow.
And the person who said in NJ they have to give you 90 days of pay - that's only if they break the law by no giving employees notification and not reporting it to NJ state gov't. But most companies that layoff 50 or more people at one location in one state, usually give enough notification time. So as to not break the law.

Smoke and mirrors. They literally do not care about anyone, anywhere. The only thing that matters to them is the market share and their free stock options.

Doesn’t make any sense. He literally visited the location 9 months ago and everyone was relieved as to how pleased he was.

Those off payroll 11/24 I’m guessing were notified last week ? That would be about the 90 day mark.
Those for 12/6 … maybe they’ll get notices next week.

I kind of suspect with the timing that they are people who got notice a couple weeks ago and had to give their answers by 8/16; those people would likely be off payroll on the dates noted.

No, I was never given the opportunity to tell the company I would move or not ( last letter advised me that I would be asked sometime in 2025 to make my decision, but was just given a Surplus letter instead) So, I suspect others were never given the opportunity to make it to wave 3 since that is where most people in NJ were moved to

I doubt it … at least not all of them. That notice was only recently posted and there are 2 dates . (Plus I don’t think that’s the way the warn works)

Under the amended law in 2023, employers are required to pay all terminated employees severance of one week of pay for each year of employment even if they provide the full requirement of 90 days' notice. If an employer fails to give a full 90 days' notice, they must pay an additional four weeks of pay to the employee.

“ What is NJ WARN?”

What is the WARN Act in New Jersey?

The New Jersey WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) Act, along with its federal counterpart and other state versions, puts responsibilities on larger employers when there are big layoffs or plants closing down. They are obligated to give their workers prior notice before a mass layoff or plant closing. The main goal is to give employees enough time to get ready for big changes in their employment status and to keep their source of income secure. If employers don’t follow the rules and give enough notice, they might have to pay affected workers compensation.

Some states like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois have their own mini-WARN acts. Other states, without their own set of regulations, follow the rules set by the federal WARN Act.
