Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike HR & Layoff.com - collaborating?

Is Nike HR and layoff.com collaborating together?

everytime there is a post on here that is someone controversial or criticizes the HR policies of Nike, it is taken down faster than Mao's CCP shuts down an disenter.

I thought this was a free platform, that promoted critical debate of a companies layoff and HR practices?

layoff. com admins - what gives?

God I hope no one does.

I even make sure to use a vpn’ed personal laptop or turn off WiFi while posting from only my personal cellphone.

No way Nike is going to catch me slipping unless they’ve got multiple warrants.

You guys aren't checking this site on your work machine, are you?

Worked in Resilience and Nike 1000% monitors this site. They do not get anonymous info from the site owners but they do engage with them to point out posts that break their own rules and request to have them taken down. Also Nike has access to every single thing you do on your cell phone so if you’re posting here using any Nike devices you can assume they have that info (if they care enough to get it).

It wouldn't be hard for Nike to work with a site administrstor at The Layoff to collect information about posters, like their IP address, location, and device information.

MD is a silent owner in the site now. Like the tech companies she can just bend the news to her narrative.

Seriously though .. this site is a cesspool masquerading as a lighthouse. Might as well have the BI guy writing these posts.

It’s sh-t and we all know it.

The mods have their own beliefs. Content outside a strong left lean is removed pretty quick, even if it’s simple statistics with an unbiased citation.

But I also get the feeling that Nike’s lawyers have a phone number to shake down when they want.

I also think moderators take down content that has the potential to have operating data that employees should not be disclosing, like “Nike paid X to vendor Y”. My guess is they want to be on safe side from companies using these posts to try to legally request posters info.

Spam, personally identifying information, racism, s-xism get taken down. Understandable strategy by layoff.com… but the execution is lazy. I don’t think the admins thoroughly read through the content when making decisions. For example, I’ve seen plenty of perfectly reasonable criticism of how DEI is being implemented get taken down. There was nothing racist or s-xist in the post, but admins probably operate on auto-pilot and see anti-DEI content and immediately assume it’s bigotry.

You’re foolish if you think VPs are actively lurking on here or HR is somehow collaborating with layoff.com.
