Looking at internal reqs and immediately rejected. Are LR’d folks immediately flagged as do NOT rehire?

Hiring managers are reluctant to hire someone who was on an LR as they assume they were not valuable or a good performer.
Why would they assume that? They had the same directives as any other manager on who to LR & it’s not about performance. It’s about COST. If they have yrs of service, they’re older & more expensive. Cut them, wait 6 mo while baking the rest of the team carry the load & they’ll be happy when you finally replace that role w/ 1-2 junior people that get to do the grunt work while the team does all the stuff the experienced person did.
It depends on the role and if your manager or director will go to bat for you.
Internal jobs are big BS. For compliancy Cisco has to post and keep them. Some Reqs are showing open since 6 months. Hiring managers onboard from their network, friends and relative with such challenging job market and top of that there is pressure from mgmt.
Recruiters are doing a clerical job of just scheduling interview and save the a--es of HM in case of any policy violation
Don't go by internal Reqs...all are bogus and waste of time
During LRs in the past, impacted employees were told by HR they would be given priority for internal reqs but it certainly didn't feel that way, & I don't think anyone in HR said that this last time or the time before (February).
I've seen two individuals who wanted internal roles get them.
You have to talk directly to your manager and theirs. Don't bother with applying to the posting until after you have confirmation that they'd take you.
Ask friends, and ask people to vouch for you. You need the reputation to get the internal reqs. You can do it if you really want to stick around.
Yup just a bunch of ghost postings to give the illusion of opportunity within the company.

Only the bottom 20%
Number of Cisco recruiters working on internal positions is an indication of jobs availability. Last LR in February they had many recruiters working few positions just to give impression of internal movement. These are temp hires and change with open reqs.
I had many internal job interviews for job grades 8-12 coming with strong 20+ years experience, hoping to land somewhere and then plan my exit gracefully on my own terms, but that was not in my destiny. Glad I took the package and am at peace with myself having lived extremely toxic culture working last ten years. My vitals are getting to normal, I feel sense of relief.
Don't bother. 99% frozen. I know its hard not to cling, but in the end really not fruitful. Big world out there. Enjoy it.
