Thread regarding Charter Communications Inc. layoffs

CHARTER LAYOFF IN NORTH CAROLINA

Charter released several employees in Greenville, NC and closed their call center. They are closing multiple regional operation centers all over North Carolina. Over 300 employees in Morrisville, NC are about to lose their jobs. Spectrum is keeping quiet but they layoff over 3000 employees across the United States. They want the employees to move to keep their jobs, and they don't care about the impact it will have on our families.

This was announced internally May 2024, with the last regional center closing roughly June 2025. There are 4 national centers for disptach and 3 for the ROC that are being created (Dallas, TX, Tampa, Fl, Rochester NY, and Billings MT ) and 2 legacy centers (NYC, Hawaii) that will remain. People are already moving to the new locations. The majority will move in Feb and March. Texas and Florida are moving to new locations to support the bigger staff, the new centers in those markets are roughly 45 minutes away from the old locations, so there is local turmoil about the drive.

The team has actually started hiring locally off the street.

The Morrisville NC location is being closed due to a decision, also made by Comcast, to go to 4 National Service Centers rather than 11 regional ones. All front line employees were offered positions in those 4 national sites, if they were willing to move. The only positions that were in jeopardy were Managers & above for the most part from what I have been told from an employee at that location.
