Microsoft exec reassures staff there’s no plan for Amazon-style RTO

Be the future. Be innovative. Be leaders young people aspire to follow.

It's never too late to change. Admitting mistakes earns people's respect.

Stop living in the past. Stop the narcissism. Pick up after yourselves instead of leaving a trail of garbage. Stop the rhetoric. Your actions not your words are the legacy you leave your grandchildren. Use a moral compass that benefits the many and not the few.

Pigs get fat. Enough said.

They need a storyline for the operating margin expansion, as layoffs and outsourcing wouldn’t be perceived well with clients and investors.

This story sits better with clients and investors and makes leadership look like geniuses:

“Our decision to RTO resulted in improved collaboration and operational efficiency, leading to significant operating margin expansion”

The RTO efficiency story is total BS, but keeps them out of the negative light for how they are achieving expense reduction.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but Frank is not changing.

Read the article. The sources are anonymous and they cite one exec, not the CEO, who said a policy change isn’t in the cards so long as employees stay productive. That’s hardly a ringing endorsement of hybrid forever. One bad quarter and all the associates will be back full-time. Healthy debate is good, just make sure you’re willing to look at all the facts.
