Network engineers got hit pretty hard this week.
Hells Fargo laid off a bevy of underwriters in April-June who worked on the MRA (matters requiring attention) initiative for 2 years to correct all the sc--w ups the bank had for years in regard to mortgage assistance reviews. These were previously underwriters from different areas around the company who were brought in to the project in early 2022 and slowly programmed to accept they were going to be laid off at the end of the project. This was not made explicit at the beginning of the project but appears it was the goal all along. Good job Schart!
