Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Let's talk reality

In store pharmacy industry is dying. More so apparently post COVID-19. People are use to ordering their prescriptions through an app or through PCP , urgent care, and dare I say online delivery. They don't want to walk into a store and buy over priced store items they can get cheaper at the dollar store down the block or delivered by Amazon. I have a CVS employee discount and even I don't want to buy that over priced make-up and toilet paper.
Larry had a genius idea to drive people to his stores with primary care and behavioral services before Walmart. He had the stores on every neighborhood block to really dominate it, more than Walmart. Aetna's healthcare is about the only good thing going for the stores. Now why Larry stay to see it all the way who knows.
Regardless both CVS and Aetna need each other as more startup tech companies drive the industry foward.
And as someone mentioned if United Healthcare can do it why can't we?

Bumping this from @lcz+1uOzBax7 for being on point.

I disagree people do want to go the pharmacy. What they don’t want is rude pharmacy staff and long wait times in line.
CVS is a greedy company who wanted buy up every struggling pharmacy. They bought the target pharmacy to get their foot in states where there were no CVS pharmacies. They didn’t need to buy an insurance company. They need to buy nursing home pharmacies.
The stock is not going anywhere that’s why they are offloading employees.

I disagree with your premise that retail pharmacy is going away. I for one hate mail delivery of dr-gs esp. with lack of dependability of the mail service. However I would never consider using a dr-g store for physician visits. Dr-g counters at other types of retail like groceries work just fine.

If you want to talk about your layoffs then why hide it? Go to reddit. At least here its slightly anonymous compared to Reddit to chit-chat about CVS and Aetna bs.
I don't see the OP booting the off topics so they must want it.

So this site is just for chit chat now? No longer about layoffs? Maybe someone can start a Reddit site for people that have all the answers that no one will listen to.
