Sick Leave/FMLA

Tore my ACL requiring surgery and will need to miss some time. Am I protected for my salary? Anyone have any experience in Fmla/STD? Will I be paid for salary or commission?

Call the short term disability carrier. It’s typically a little less than half of your pay weekly. No commission but for the duration of your fmla leave. Your doc needs fill out and to sign the FMLA packet and company has to approve it. Technically fmla protects you, but they can let you go for any reason even if it is just business needs and sometimes that happens. You need to speak to your manager let them know what’s going on and what you need,
Of course take care of your health first but try to come up with a plan with your manager not HR to make it work

You will need to file an FMLA claim.

You will receive a certain percentage of your salary, for a certain amount of weeks; once approved.
