Just what GNT needs, adding yet another layer.

Good question: “when does a CTO not report directly to the CEO??” Another sign that VZ just creates layers of management and the incompetency of some leaders - CEO outsourcing business strategy to CSO, JR (whatever title he has) outsourcing technology strategy decisions to CTO.
Question-5: with the upcoming debt-laden Frontier amalgamation, merger, pending US Government approvals. Given, Frontier has no wireless assets, but Frontier Communications Parent Inc. (FYBR) Dallas, TX, executives also have talent needing to be folded back to VZ.
Question-3: when does a CTO not report directly to the CEO??
Yes, same thing I said a day ago if you read below. FYI when you use real names your comments usually get deleted, that's why I used initials.
FYI - Santiago “Yago” Tenorio is a backfill for this postion with the same job title: Ed Chan Chief technology officer of Verizon Communications. Ed departed Verizon in 1Q2022.
Would not be surprised to see some C Suite retirement announcements being announced soon. Russo being one of them.
Bottom line, from I've been told, Hans doesn't trust Russo nor feel he is dynamic enough to be with the BOD or strategic customers. Thus, at a minimum, this is Russo's replacement if not Hans.
I agree, it’s succession planning. All these years, Joe still doesn’t feel comfortable managing technology strategy. Time for a change at that level.
With EC gone, JR taking over for these months, JR clearly doesn’t trust his team in making good decisions collectively, hence hired a high profile mediator. Honestly, if EC couldn’t produce the outcome, the chances an outsider could make a difference is slim to none.
Yay, more shuffling of VPs and reorgs coming. And people wonder how come there hasn’t been any meaningful outcome after all these years of reorgs.
GNT does seem to have layers upon layers though. Surely they could reallocate some of those large salaries to people who do actual work.
No it is not AKs job or "adding a layer" that didn't already exist. It was an open position after EC left for the Tower company.
Isn’t that Adam Koppe’s job?
Succession planning? Remember Hans was CTO before he took over from Lowell as CEO.
