It’s disheartening to see that CVS didn’t just lay people off—they outsourced jobs. Historically, outsourcing has often been shown to cost more in the long term rather than saving money, despite the initial appeal. We’ve even seen this firsthand when we tried outsourcing to Perot Systems many years ago, and it was an epic fail. What makes this decision even harder is that the people let go were some of the most loyal and hardworking individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
