I just received a “Business update” meeting invite from my manager. It was sent to all 10 of my colleagues. Could this be to tell us we are laid off?

Probably to inform you they have completed layoffs in your area.
Just finished the meeting. They told us about other team members that got laid off and they said we are safe.I feel relieved for now.
don't go to it. make them track you down like office space milton. block off the rest of your calendar availability. Unfortunately thats the invite you dont want to have.
Did the 10 of your colleagues received a separate meeting invite? Like 1:1 ? If so then it could be a layoff
But if all the 10 people were invited to the call then may be not a layoff
We had one of those this morning and 600 ppl on it. It was to dispel rumors and to tell us everyone in our dept had already been communicated to and they were also included on call as they will work for a few more weeks to transition their work,
I believe all meetings related to layoffs/re-organizations must have this title. My VP sent a Business Update meeting to all 15-20 of us on his team yesterday, and it was to inform us that there would be no more layoffs on our team, and to let us know that some people would be moving to a new manager. They don't lay off entire departments via a group call. HR was present on our call as well. I'm guessing the title of these meetings is determined by HR and must be followed by all departments when talking about any org changes this week.
