Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Severance and Insurance?

Hi there, I just found out I was being let go. I know YMMV, but what is the typical standard operating procedure for severance for 3+ years and how long will I still get health insurance through CVS and not have to transfer over to my spouse's plan?

On the one hand, I hate being out of a job, but on the other hand, at least there's not the annual fretting of "Will this be the year I lose my job?" ...

Good luck, and thanks in advance for any helpful insight.

Whoever notified you of your job elimination should have provided you with a Colleague Separation Guide and a severance agreement for you to review and return. If that’s not the case, contact HR. They have to acknowledge in the HR systems that they had a conversation with you and provided you with the documents.

Insurance ends at the last day of the month of your termination date. Say if your severance kicks in on mid Dec, your insurance ends at 12/31

Everyone was given this information when they were told they are being laid off. How could you be the only one?

I'm sorry you are being let go, I was notified of the same thing today. Your manager or HR, whoever you met with should have given you electronic documents that provide information on severance and extension of medical benefits. For exempt employees, that varies by job grade and years of service. If you are by chance non-exempt, I don't have any info there.

I was email three electronic documents with all that info and alot more after I was notified today. Your best bet is to reach out to your manager or the HR rep you may have met with.
