Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Hans must go!

We have reduced the work force by about 50k, bringing us under 100k employees dor the first time in over two decades.

Outsourcing is at an all time high. Customers complain daily because the are frustrated due to communication issues.

Stock has been struggling for a while now. 401ks are floundering.

The chaos model that IT (also outsourced) employs is collapsing onto itself.

Under this leadership, we are looking more and more like a small fish primed to be eaten by a bigger fish...just like Sprint.

Hans lost his previous job with Ericson because he misappropriated funds. Most front line people knew how this would end.

Another 4800 laid off.

Hans was brought in to do this specifically. He was brought in as a CEO no one else wanted to get paid well to butcher the company for parts, this plan was in place years ago and they're working through it step by step. They're stripping costs regardless of impacts to quality wherever they can and massaging the studies they have quality do so they get the result the higher ups want to report.

Hans isn't the issue. The board is. They want maximum profits and maximum cost cutting until they likely sell off parts of the company to that Indian "special" partner company we work with and/or get sell the su-ked dry husk of the company to someone else.

The best part is they tell internal reps that outsourced ones beat them in every way while ignoring that they have to literally enact processes to work around the lack of fluency in English. Scripts? Required because their own outsourcing partners outright tell Verizon their vendor reps aren't good enough at English.

Unionize and go out with a bang before the final layoffs, atleast then you'll have some fun and get the same perks wireline sees.

5G launched right about the time COVID hit. He decided to push through. Why? Because Verizon is always first. And Verizon was beat to the 5G launch by another company.
Despite the world stopping on a dime due to COVID, he pushed it through.
Verizon started losing customers in droves because of the increased costs and cr-ppy coverage caused by the retirement of 3G to make way for 5G.
Cut to a year later and here Hans says that the 5G rollout was "aggressive".
You think?!
Then the company started pushing more sales regardless of the department. Reps were required to hit unattainable sales numbers.
Quality of support also took a hit because the metrics were higher for sales and lower for customer satisfaction.
And we kept hearing this buzzword, "the investors".
Changing networks is costly. And it was launched when the world halted. Yes Hans, this was your biggest mistake! It's like Ericson all over again!
Verizon used to pride themselves that ALL workers were US based. Now all of them are "strategic partners". Aka, foreign call centers.
Btw, these call centers are a warehouse of workers who support many companies. At&t in this row, Sears in this row, Verizon in this row, etc. You get the idea. They also get paid $4/hr. You also get the idea with this, too. And it boils down to shareholders again. As long as THEY get their money, who cares about Verizons cellular connections or quality of support. They used to be so great!

Hans pushed Rohan out. Get rid of all the Indians and don’t do jack but just repeat stuff. Send them packing.

Another non-American/un-American CEO butchering one of our great companies. Go home, Hans.

Also, the lay offs are probably due to the Verizon Merger with Frontier.

This is why you do not hire a non-U.S. citizen for a CEO position. He doesn’t not care about the future of our country. He’ll leave the U.S. the second he leaves Verizon. Ronan did the same.
