AI is an excuse and has not taken a job yet. AI sounds much better than we are offshoring your job, please exit the building.

Just look at the AI generated information you receive now. Most is a bunch of garbage. AI will be a disaster, not sure if quite as bad as the 5G debacle or the prediction of huge amounts of revenue generated from IOT.

Just because a job is offshored does not mean that person is any more knowledgeable.
This is the same old VZ mentality. If we lay off employees that actually know what the y are doing, replace with someone overseas without a clue, the new person will not impact the bottom line with mistakes. A million dollar mistake is worth saving $25 per hour by offshoring. The department that offshored jobs looks better by saving money and the department where the million dollar mistake hits, that person gets reamed. Will not be allowed to provide details around what occurred, because upper management has never wanted to hear the truth, they prefer being lied to with the old smoke and mirrors.

A safe job for now is not in the office it's boots on the ground. Right now AI can't go to a CO or into the field to do instalation or repair of services.

The reason why there were more job cuts in the past is because there were more employees. It's probably about the same percentage. AI is to blame. Think of how many apps you have on your computer or work phone that used to have a department of people, or the department had more employees but don't need them now that you have an app for it. There will be more cuts as soon as AI figures how to do your job.

All call center sales representatives must be getting nervous. If your job doesn’t get outsourced, AI will take it over.

Elon Musk was right. AI is going to take over many jobs. But just a few months back when Musk said this, many CEOs said it will create more jobs. Well, they forgot to add the word AI to the sentence: "It will create more jobs for 'AI' " not humans.

machine learning / Ai is the excuse used for layoffs. but you don't fire people well ahead of Ai being able to. do the work.

Ai was the given excuse, the reality is about $1,000 of debt per customer and old debt needing to be reserved at higher interest rates. slashing employees is how you make ends meet when you can't boost sales.
