That is not how CEO succession works. It usually takes 1 year unless there is a huge public scandal. All boards are accountable to shareholders for proper succession planning.
In case you failed to notice (which you probably have since you opened this thread) we are back to category offense.
The reorg actually started when the RAT was fired. After that AC was removed from active duty. DH got promoted and likely started the cleanup, he lead the digging against the RAT after getting frustrated with nothing being delivered to him from GT for ND.
EH did not accept the job overnight, this whole event was in the works for a year. He was probably consulted beforehand.
This whole reorg was getting back to the category offense with focusing on key categories and cutting out the useless cr-p.
The new brand revival, the new direction, olympics ads happened with this moment in mind. EH would probably shuffle names around.
Most of us from tech are complaining about MD but she was the only one “brave” enough to accept the job. (I also do bit like her but that is the point)
It is a very risky move to come in from amazon with expectations to clean up the RAT nest.
