Every company out there is looking for AI and Data headcount. This place treats it like an after thought. Not sure why anyone in these areas would stay at this company, the $ and upward mobility are far great outside of this place.

This bank is too broken. The only way is to split it up and give it to people who know how to run it.
It's been known for a little while that he was leaving. CDO in most places, especially here, is pretty close to a thankless job that barely moves the needle. How many CDOs have we been thru in the past 5+ years? That org largely doesn't get anywhere and it's bloated AF in some places. They're still trying to solve some challenges after a bunch of people have taken a stab it. Some problems are not solvable b/c we don't actually do the things we need to do to solve them and there's the typical BS "warring factions". Now add a revolving door of people who build their fiefdom and get nowhere.
Its the Wells way. The CDO and the CAO realize that this place is a spaghetti bowl of data silos, ETL scripts, databases, spreadsheets etc.
One takes the tail of the elephant, the other its trunk.
As @fnc+1uAlfaIn says "we are all just sitting around and waiting for these monkeys to figure out how they want to structure their empires." And this will no doubt happen as Wells reacts to a crisis.
CDO is a nonsense job. No one in the industry has gained anything due to its existence.
Little bite off topic: this week Jamie mentioned that he is getting ready to retire and is looking for his replacement. I wonder is princess Charles is one of the potential one for that…. 🤔🧐
Its odd the CDO role is way down in the org structure, talk about living in the past. I don't even know what to say about this place. I wonder often if Charlie was sent here by Jamie to sink the ship.

This information has been known for a long time. The cover story is that "he" decided to move on to another company outside of banking because of family reasons. This is plausible because he did not re-enter banking possibly due to a non-compete. I really do not care why he is leaving. What I do know is a new CAO came in and within months the CDO tendered his resignation. In my opinion, the CDO most likely did not like the direction the CAO decided. We can draw this conclusion because the CAO simply did not replace him. They are breaking that organization up into two several more verticals. All I know is that now the new "executives" who recently assumed control are shaking their entire organization into pieces. On the one hand you either have ZERO work (and your manager is lying to their boss about it) or in the other you ARE extremely busy for which you are getting little to no credit. So, we are all just sitting around and waiting for these monkeys to figure out how they want to structure their empires.
Maybe they were moving his job offshore! Might as well. They are moving everything else
Yes, he has an OOO message without a return data
