This was all planned and negotiated with the company long before craft walked off the job last Friday. Get a good night’s sleep tonight because you all will have plenty of work to catch up on starting tomorrow. If you don’t believe this to be true, come back to this post tomorrow and tell me I’m wrong. You won’t.

People on here have no idea why they’re striking. AT&T wants $6000-$7000 deductibles in health insurance with high premiums. They want to take away 1 week of vacation. They want 1-2% raises. They want to lay off a lot of their current employees and replace them with contract employees that are paid less from other companies. That’s just what I know. I am willing to bet there’s more. AT&T is paying their EX CEO $250,000/ month. Imagine what they’re paying their current CEO. They are a multi million dollar company. I hope the strike is successful.
But, it didn’t. I want to go back to work. I have a family that depends on me.
Welp. Strike is still going.
I worked strike duty about 20 years ago as repair for three days in Cleveland. Three days was enough and i would not want that job for any amount of money... sorry. Climbing poles, hot as all heck, wasps in cross box, dog cr-p all over the floor in the basement of one of the repairs, dr-g dealers on corners with lookouts and this was only my three day experience! Stories of a lifetime for sure LOL.
The OP didn’t age well, so much for all planned.
The sun'll come out, tomorrow
So you gotta hang on 'til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya, tomorrow
My guess is most of the people posting here have never been in a supervisory position ever and certainly not over Union employees. I promise you, it su-ks to the core. Everything is basically a knockdown drag out fight. Even the smallest things. I did it for 7 years and vowed never again. Never.
@1tzq+1u6QbOKs Those are actually a lot of the reasons that I appreciate the union jobs, and why I appreciate my office job, too.
I'm glad you make so much money, bc I was hired, with a degree, over 30 years ago as a manager. There was always some d-mb reason why I didn't get the max raise each year including reasons like "your teammate needs a bigger raise to bring him into the minimum of the pay band, even though you got a better review." Well, guess what, 30+ years later, and I'm still below the mid-point, regardless of any good reviews and bumps to pay for job title change. I started out in the mid-90s at somewhere between 40-45k. I didn't reach 6 figures until AFTER 25 years of service.
But please don't show your butt and not know that without the manual laborers, our network work isn't sp-t. And you've apparently gotten lucky to not work in the SE/BellSouth areas where we're earning less while many times doing much more than our counterparts in California, NJ, and India. Unless you're in sales, and then you're probably just overpaid in general.
“Hey managementtard cubicle boy, with a couple of hours of OT every week we make more than you do, we have better cheaper insurance, we still have insurance when we retire , when still have a pension that is funded every year , we are not fired at will, we do t go on public forums and “expose” our ignorance, , that is just a few things we have better than you and that’s before this contract is finished,”
- Uuummm….Didnt you expose your ignorance with this post?
- I don’t work in people’s nasty houses
- I don’t work in manholes
- I don’t dig holes in dirt or sand
- I don’t climb poles
- I don’t have dogs chasing me through people’s yards
- I don’t have to work in the middle of the night on callout
- I don’t work in hot azz attics
- I don’t crawl around underneath houses and trailers
- I don’t have to work in the rain
- I don’t have designated break times
- I don’t have to ask permission to “go out of route” to use the bathroom
- I don’t have to where a stoopid uniform
- I don’t have to work OT
- I don’t have to work on my hands and knees
- I don’t have to work in the mud
- I don’t have to go stand on the side of the road with a sign hollering at people about how bad my $85,000/yr job is
The list goes on and on union clown. Keep up the good work Mr. Handy Man
And BTW, you’d have to work a helll of a lot more than a couple of hours OT each week to make my salary.
And enough with the pejorative slurs from the union guys below; makes you look cretinous.
"after what happened today. Shame on AT&T for what they're doing."
And what happened today? No update has been published today.
Strike is gonna go on for another 2 weeks after what happened today. Shame on AT&T for what they're doing.
Came back gleefully to tell you you were wrong troll.
tick tock!
Well, we’ll see…
I think Walmart, Uber or Pizza Hut are hiring for your skill set because, this one doesn’t seem to be working out for you.”
Lmao we ain’t the ones on strike for our wages doing more work than we were before. Those side hustles will get you through the pummeling the CWA is exposing you all to.

So I am kinda confused here is to who is really “exposed “ ?
No wonder people are continually on this site complaining about this poorly run company, because with retaard managers like you in charge of ANYTHING, this company really is in trouble
hope you make through your next round of layoffs, and don’t wear two cars out this year getting to work, managementtard.

“ This was all planned and negotiated”
That’s how the union really sticks it to the man. Pathetic.
You are wrong, the company went crying to daddy, federal mediator in the morning. See CWA bargaining report #47.
Wait till they see D9 is over 5 months past their contract expiration, TA still not ratified and same thing happened with D3 during 2019 contract negotiations. Pattern?
Nope! You wish!
- your fat azz sitting behind a computer*
Have you seen some of your brethren?
The answer is yes, the union has submitted proposal after proposal. If you would only take the time to read the bargaining updates,
I have been reading them all and only ONE broke down the points, with AT&T's positions provided with numbers, and the CWA listing only numbers for 401k, the rest just said "more," "significant," "lower", etc. Even today's said the CWA proposal " included all the common interest items that our members have expressed they want ." NO mention of anything they'd be willing to concede. And BTW--it's up to 47 updates, so FATWO.
“ So is the union making ANY concessions, on anything?”
The answer is yes, the union has submitted proposal after proposal. If you would only take the time to read the bargaining updates, they are available to the public on D3 website, it’s up to #46 now. Nice try but you failed again. I think Walmart, Uber or Pizza Hut are hiring for your skill set because, this one doesn’t seem to be working out for you.
“ This is why management giggles every time you union goof speak”
Ohh, you got us! You are so intelligent, sophisticated and great use of punctuation. Pat, can I buy a comma and an ‘s, please? 🤣 Bet the outside mangers pulling their weight doing CP assignment, have a whole different outlook than, your fat azz sitting behind a computer, in room with cold A/C. We see them going out every day and they aren’t happy!!
So is the union making ANY concessions, on anything? Even standing pat can be a concession, but that doesn't even seem to be an option? If they are not, and they are not at all willing to consider anything less than their proposals, it sounds like the union is the one not participating in good faith bargaining.
Wow! I’m getting used to these shortened days, need to rest up for the OT heading our way. Heard they are already telling customers it will be from 2 wks-month before we can get to them. Keep stacking, plenty of OT and 💰 when we return. Didn’t take long for the load to build. The company sycophants we’re saying, “we have people waiting to replace you”, Strike already”, “do it, union slugs” , etc…🤣😂
We want a fair contract and to get back to work but not under company ULP tactics like, calling Wire Techs, second-class! They didn’t even mention Utility techs, guess they are the “union slugs” company sycophants keep referring to on this site.
“ We grilled out at our strike location had a nice lunch for the morning and afternoon shifts. ”
This is why management giggles every time you union goof speak.
Don’t have to wait until tomorrow. You are dead wrong just like every thing else you post managementtard.
"That certainly fizzled out. I was expecting Shock and Awe after all the hype."
I see this is the first time you've watched the CWA "negotiate".
We grilled out at our strike location had a nice lunch for the morning and afternoon shifts. Hamburgers, hotdogs, bacon wrapped jalapeño popper’s, with variety of chips, condiments, pickle spears, cookies along, with some ice cold refreshments. At this point we are kinda hoping it last through the weekend and start on Monday, or NOT. Whatever it takes to get the company back to bargaining in good faith, we are here for the long haul. It’s the most time we’ve spent with our co-workers as a group since, the last contract strike in 2019, feels like a family re-union.
The managers dispatching at our location want it to stop now, they are already weary, it’s telling on them by their tired looks and expressions just, in a few short days. We are cordial to each other but they aren’t happy with the company, at all! Can’t blame them, working extra days and hours for the same pay also, poorly trained to do the job. It’s good for them, get a very small taste of our day to day work. We tell them to be safe and don’t do anything to get hurt, not worth it because, we will be back soon. We don’t want to see anyone injured because of company negotiators have put them in this situation.
"For the person complaining about 120 weeks pay in the West…"
These management tards. Clearly missing the point of job security language. Not getting to the point of severance pay is the whole point behind having that language.
the strike is not over, this is a lie, just go look at d3 bargaining report if you need answer
"I'll miss it"
Our evening shift got Raising Cane's chicken fingers. I was leaving when they were setting up the tables, but I wrangled 3 for the drive home. :-)
For the person complaining about 120 weeks pay in the West… do your homework. That is ONLY in an ERB situation. Company will never do another ERB. There is no point for them to do it again. In 2009 we had 23,000 CWA West members. We now have 8,000. Attrition of 1000 members per year on average. Last ERB in the West region was 20 yrs ago in 2004
I'll miss it. Yesterday they delivered about 200 assorted bagels, and today we got 20 pizzas. At most we have 40-50 employees on the entire floor.
That D9 120 week thing is only IF there is some sort of an offer.
Been a few years since there was an offer in CA
If ya retire, ya get what ya get.
Wow the fun is over.
Don’t have to wait till tomorrow,
You are dead wrong , Mr. Know it all.
