Humana Community- Volunteer day in Louisville

Anyone else on a team where their leadership is making a huge deal out of this? Most of our team live in Louisville and they were told they must attend, so most of our team will be out over 3/4 of the day. While I understand it’s nice to volunteer, this seems to be a huge productivity buster with a complete work stoppage on Aug 21st. Seems like this will allow the brown nosers to “network” and be noticed.

If you have the email where your manager or leader told you 'Must' volunteer I would send a copy to HR. This was volunteering not mandatory.

Just fyi... I'm not in Louisville. And, while I support volunteering for good causes, etc,... I expect there to be some metrics from this event captured and displayed in future marketing collateral. The question is... would they make a big deal, spend the labor $$ if they were not going to market it in some way?

Volunteering or voluntold? Thats nonsense and they will probably end up standing around all day with nothing to do.
