Wellness week comes to a close

Genuinely curious, did you have more than five emails in your inbox? I sure did. Fire-drills don’t care about wellness week. Even if I did only have 5 emails, not sure I’d be bragging about it on linked in. Wellness week is about the optics and not a universal benefit. Also seems kind of insensitive to our retail and FC folks.

I love wellness week. It’s up to everyone’s position if they need to answer emails but if you can switch off completely it’s a great perk. Also Many colleagues from further away ( US/ Australia / south Afrika) take another week or 2 off afterwards to visit their families or discover Europe . … ( we don’t have 401k bonuses that we lose )

It was much needed. Not going back!

Definitely enjoyed this perk. Literally got paid for a well just to disconnect and do nothing. Thank you, Nike!

What a weird POV. The point of wellness week is to unplug and actually take time off. Thinking you’re important because of how many emails you get isn’t a flex.

@1rnr+1u3pvGqe Question for you or anyone who has info. I am also on maternity leave. Do we get our salary as regular from Nike for this week?0what do you mean by double?

Why are you checking email? Delete the app from your phone and enjoy the free time, JFC. People at Nike are so obsessed with looking busy.

At the end of your life, you’re not going to look back and think “Damn why didn’t I check my emails during Wellness Week?”

I’ve been taking advantage of the doubles paternity leave but hope you enjoyed wellness week as well

No one talks about this, the wellness week started during 2020, it was a down year technically, and as a result the 401k bonus that we had been enjoying for many years was taken away.
The wellness week continued year over year, and the 401k bonus has been discontinued year over year.
I would prefer to work this week and have our 401k bonus back (it was roughly 10% of the PSP)
If you do the math, with Nike not paying out that 401k bonus, and not paying ETWs for the week, it is a big overall cost savings.
As a "bonus", I assume people are actually more productive on return, however, are they really? That is a convo for a different topic, the number of freeloaders is ridiculous, at least in GT anyway...the bulk of the readers here.

So, when you are so happy with this "wellness week", think what it is costing you in real dollars.....

Retail folks get the equivalent to use on their own time so maybe check your facts before complaining about something no other company gives their employees

It was a good break. I absolutely loved it! One of Nike’s best benefits for sure.

Would you prefer we work throughout the week instead? What would you propose?
