Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

RTO 3.0

Mandatory 3 days per week coming late 1st/ early 2nd qtr 2025 after building capacity projects are completed. Also hearing adherence measures will be put in place to catch badge swipers, and no shows. 12 days a month I can handle, but big daddy treating me like a child will have me looking elsewhere next year if this happens. Maybe that’s what they want???

RTO does not apply to Miami employees! challenge me, go and see how many IT employees show up on a daily basis. not even leadership is there.

RTO “exemptees” should have their work station at home live-monitored with cam and mic during work hours. Badge process as well.

Fair compromise for all.

If you choose not to show up there is NOTHING they can do about it aside from maybe move your raise from 3% to 2.75%. There has not been one person fired for non-compliance in the three months this has been going on. Do what works best for you and your productivity!!!

Indeed, Miami, particularly Tech is nowhere to be seen, they send the contractors, but none of the leadership shows up. they are all in heaven over there. (well, that may also be the reason they lose customers on a daily basis :))

RTO, should’ve been done already. There has been no definite answer as to, are we permanent WFH. The company has us in limbo. It’s a big mess. We have let so many jobs be outsourced while Rifs have happened. Let’s get back to the office and get this ship headed in the right direction.

All you have to do is get a workplace accommodation. Go to your doctor and them you get anxiety and stress when in the office. Then go to VZ Web and fill out a workplace accommodation form. Your doctor will need to complete a portion of it, and bo-m, you are exempted from coming into the office. They are good for about 6 months at which point you’ll need to renew it.

We have a woman on our team who anytime she doesn’t want to come in on the mandated RTO weekly days she suddenly has covid. There has been not one word said to her. She practically begs HR to do something about it!!!!

Yes indeed I have heard that Miami value GTS is a Joke particularly after Mr Smith was ousted and now SDloach is in charge.

Just a matter of time and attrition till every office job moves to NJ, TX, CO, IL, GA or CA and all the little hubs are gone

Just curious, but has anyone who consistently doesn't meet rto requirements been officially warned to comply? Did it come up in anyone's mid-year?

They updated the badge scanners in Irvine. Definitely something is going to happen or enforcement.

Meanwhile the people 200 miles from a hub don’t have to show up. That’s complete discrimination to the rest of us.
And no one is listening to the 2 days now why would they listen to 3

@ymf+1u2fnb1e you obviously don't work here. Our office buildings are vacant most of the time. Even on the days we are all supposed to be in office, more than half the parking spots are empty. Our ranks have been more than decimated.

I also heard 4Q for three days RTO. Plenty of office space.

If 3 days per week is required, there isn't enough office space, because everyone will come to office on Tue, Wed and Thur

all of Mr. Smith Friends in Miami value GTS (and now SDeloach ) are excempt from showing up to the office, so all these rules do not apply to them.

Some employees submit their BS exemption requests and get to work from home, in the departments that are requiring current mandatory RTO. While their co-workers conform to the RTO. Not fair and no repercussions. Vz should do away will WRH exemptions, just like pre covid. Get your a-s into the office or look for a real WFH job.

So what? Everyone knows this was coming. RTO is different across the board - some are still at home, others are full time in the office.

VZ is late to the party as always. Most companies have already implemented RTO 3 days/ week, badge in/ out processes, etc … good luck not finding big daddies
