Thread regarding Kyndryl layoffs

Recent Resource reduction/Layoff

FLM mentioned that resource reduction is happening in some departments. Has Anyone heard anything about recent layoff/reduction?

Benching is neccessary for the company to hide from the local regulations of mass layoffs at least in EU. But you may eventually win or loose - being on the bench and self quitting is win-loose as you will probably get a new better job, but being on the bench and being fired is a little win as you will receive severance pay up to few montlhy wages and normal notice period. So you will have a buffer.

Not shedding the IBM geriatric crowd fast enough.

This company is shedding jobs, at a pretty good clip. It is just not a big chunk of workers quickly. The reduction in workforce is mostly done with attrition of employee's leaving organically. The extensive number of IBM rollovers calling it quits and retiring out. Once this cycle of voluntary workforce reduction ends. I would lay even money the involuntary reductions will start. Sometime before the Christmas holiday or shortly after the new year. Kyndryl just can not afford this labor force .

I do remember layoff in Brno: on the bench were put many tech people, architects, who could bring much to Kyndryl. On the other hand were not touched at all team leaders, flms, who even do not know how to reboot a server. How Kyndryl management makes a decisions?? No idea.
If Kyndryl is a really tech company, it should keep and develop tech staff.

I also think thinning of the herd here at KD could be beneficial. I am not eager to face the unemployment line any sooner than anyone else. My skills and experience, education are top notch so yeah let's do this. Bye Bye boomers!!!!!

I am not shocked at all by the vitriol coming from the last commenter. I do indeed stand by my post that I made. I am more than willing to put my position on the line. If layoffs help streamline the company and make it more profitable and stable. I do not think Kyndryl can keep such a massive labor force. This is causing a massive drain on the companies bottom line. So yes let the layoff begin sooner than later. To my last detractor's comment I am pretty sure you'll do just fine no unemployment in your future.

Kyndryl needs to really start cutting a lot of useless workers loose. I see so many redundant jobs being performed by numerous workers in the different departments. If this company is to survive. Then start making the tough decisions now in regards to your workforce. I am more than willing to roll the dice on my position, in order to secure my position. The workers left standing are on secure employment ground. I would start with a big chunk of the IBM legacy rollovers. This crowd is just plain worthless. Dear god people update your skills and training. When I hear DUH or AHHH before you answer a simple job related question I just end the conversation immediately. I know they do not know they are just trying to give me an ambiguous answer. WORTHLESS simple WORTHLESS

All I hear is haters hating on Indians. That last post was a perfect example of this. This person is making unsubstantiated statements of fraud by the Indian workforce. I am an American worker who deals quite extensively with Indians daily and routinely. These are smart ambitious hard working individuals. They go above and beyond what the job requires of them. My own experience with my fellow American co-workers over the years has been less than stellar. I always hire out to them before I look to hire in house. I get better value.

The reason Indians are taking our jobs is they are cheaper, not more skilled. They inspire hiring manager with low hourly rate, academic record (which mostly fake) and bunch of certifications (which they usually pass using dumps, proxy exams or other illegal means).
Don't you often receive IRS scam calls from India? search 'proxy interview' in youtube. that speaks their mindset/ethics as whole.

Most workers are a one trick pony. They lose their job, and then it becomes a mad dash to replace that income. The American dream is a lie. The old belief put your head down work hard pay your taxes give all you can give to your job. This formula will enable you to be a productive prosperous citizen. In reality, the company will cut me loose. I will find new employment for a lot less salary. I will start out with aspirations of matching or beating my previous salary. As I quickly realize, what I use to do, paid me well. The new company I will be employed by does not give a cr-p what my previous value was. They hired me into do what they need me to do. Believe me it has nothing to do with what I use to do. I do it for one reason and one reason only. It is the only employer that offered my old butt a position at a far lesser rate of salary.

Yes it is called the Layoff. Lets talk about something that reinforces a positive support for persons that do get laid off. This site has become a giant rumor mill, and an Indian bashing club. The Indians are doing exactly what we are doing in America, working. Working to take care of their families. Maybe we should follow their lead and advice. They are quite inspirational people.

To the person asking why we keep discussing RAs...this site is called THE LAYOFF. The whole point is to discuss layoffs. Gain insight into layoffs. Vent about the experience of layoffs. Project layoffs, Etc.

It is a horrible feeling of betrayal. when a company just cuts you based on numbers. That pretty much is what happened to me. It is just the way things are now days. A new reality of the work world.

My parents were work a day people. Pop was a garbage man 34 yrs mom was a bank teller for the local state bank. They made it a priority that me and my siblings go to college, so we would have a better life. I have a MBA, and two minor degree's. I have been laid off three times in the last twenty years. Spent countless hours trying to make myself invaluable to the company. Well surprise, surprise got my walking papers again. I am just stunned it came out of the blue, and I mean out of the blue. You think with my education level I would be insulated from this kind of stress. Well I am not. My parents live in a nice house that was paid off decades ago, both have decent pensions, both collect decent social security, both have ok health care. They owe nobody nothing and money in the bank and investments in the stock market. Yup my education really has given my a huge advantage. I am so tired of the game being rigged. What a joke it is!!!!

Why do we keep having this conversation. Nothing and I mean nothing will be gained. having this fear mongering topic discussed to death. Corporation will do what they want when they want to their employee's. In todays business environment, firings, layoffs, short term, long term contract work is the new way for employee's to work. Add work from home to the equation. Then it just gets that much simpler to separate the employee from the employer. Out of sight, out of mind, and out the door.

Being bench is equal to being laid off! There is little to no chance of getting a new position unless you have a critical skill they need in some other group. Don’t waste your time get your resume out externally. Speaking from experience!

It is just rumors. There has with out a doubt been a reduction in the workforce. Kyndryl has been doing it all year. They quietly just let persons go through individual layoffs or natural attrition. No better no worst than any company this size.
