I am a Director and I was advised today my 2 Direct Reports I will be laying off Monday morning. I had zero say on who would be laid off or not.

Anyone involved in this year’s bid should be shown the door! Disaster! They must be removed so this constant layoff threat stops!
This years layoffs were smaller than last year, they were also more flexible on termination dates which is why you will see them happen in waves between now and year end. I was involved in getting names into the HR layoff spreadsheet, it is very real. I was also involved in last year's, the process was largely the same excluding the flexibility on end dates.
The want for conspiracy is what’s troubling. The hope for bad news. The defense of a likely fake post. Why?

Why in the world would you get an announcement or email when someone has to lay 2 people off??? If it was a mass layoff like last year then yes, you would. However lots of smaller groups have been getting laid off with CVS over the past year and I’m sure you did not receive an email for every person or group being laid off… the mass layoffs are coming it’s just a matter of when. But until then, it’s very common to quietly remove a couple of people at a time so it doesn’t cause panic.
There has been no announcement, no follow up to the post, had no detail. How is that credible and why single sided demand for proof?
Nothing is going to happen while HR leadership in transition. Duh.
Do you have proof it’s a conspiracy and didn’t happen?!?!?! If not then you have no argument. If you have proof then please share it with us all. If not then you are making unfounded accusations and conspiracy theories yourself. I do agree that some of what’s on this board is not always accurate, but people will always be people and that will happen. Doesn’t make everything on the board bullsh-t though. So don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

There may be some truth to the post. I'm a director and during last year's RIF, I had zero say in one of my team member's lay off. Similarly, I was told on Friday afternoon that one of my team was being let go on Monday. It was awful.
I hate to say it but this round of layoffs pales in comparison to what is coming in Q1 2025. Large outsourcing deal is coming with entire departments getting outsourced (minus leadership), there will be some large impacts on worker bees and this will comprise the bulk of the $2B savings package Karen announced.
And nothing. Time for the apology.

Last year, the layoff meetings were set up about 15-30 minutes before the meeting took place, and they all had the same title. Can someone share the title of the meeting that HR uses on Monday, when they set up these meetings?

I was told yesterday (on my PTO) I'll be eliminating 2 positions Monday morning. I will not be advised who until 8am Monday.
Last go round of layoffs I made the decision of who to eliminate but oddly my peer did not. The VP decided and I do not really know what criteria was used. So yes it does happen. HCB side of the company
