I was denied but I’m relieved. I make an outstanding salary but have zero skills. I didn’t really want to flip burgers for a living.
there is no such thing is called sole knowledge bearer,
what happens if sole knowledge bearer on leave, then entire Verizon needs to shut down.
Nobody is irreplaceable, just give knowledge transfer, then you can be let go

Those that were denied, what team and what type of role? Would only make sense if the whole team opted for it and they denied the top performers or sole knowledge bearers?

two on my team had vsp rejected. they were quite unhappy.

I heard of a couple as well, but probably the same Global Service people mentioned elsewhere.
I know of at least 2 that were denied in Global Services- both Associate Directors.
for any denials , SVP need to make a case to appeal, it is not easy to change HR's decision
