@3bdy+1tyoe2mM Literally just trying to help. Your energy however is so negative, I’m sorry you’ve been impacted so much.
If you can get to the root of the problem and elicit change, kudos. Judging from the amount of time this has been going on, my advice is to move on.
Why put yourself through it? Feels like abusive relationship drama. Just get out and move on.
@3mrm+1tyoe2mM close minded people like YOU only care about their own happiness that is why you suggest that all unhappy people at NSRL get up and go! We care about getting to the root of the problem to make NSRL great again for everyone! Keep locking MN boot... He is a narcissistic psyocypat . He needs to go
Regardless of people becoming unhappy after you, it’s not worth the pain and anguish for YOU to stay, because the negativity and stress isnt worth it.
Options are everywhere … lulu has research scientist roles posted right now
STORY time! For those of you who don’t know this, MN, as a young buck managed to push out M-ario (the guy he replaced) using his smooth talking, bro centric approach, good acting skills and cozied up to Ikitchen leadership. This got him up the ladder and all the way to VP level, how? bullying n kissing up will get you there. In the meantime, anyone who doesn’t fit his clique or act the part will be shown the door- sooner or later. If you don’t know this history, sit yourself down, clearly you are defending him for a reason. MN is a fear based “leader”, a narcissist with zero empathy for anyone with a dissenting voice. How many more will lose their jobs to feed MN’s ego?….so much for leading with science….do everyone a favor and bow out. Time for a real leader to take up the reigns and let the researchers do their jobs!
@2qzg+1tyoe2mM Asking unhappy people at NSRL to leave is not a solution. They will be replaced by new hires who will become unhappy again in no time and the cycle continues. Wouldn't it be a better approach to find out WHY so many NSRl people are unhappy? Perhaps if MN leaves, then a lot of us become happy!
@2myi+1tyoe2mM 100% agree, but just meant that seemingly this isn’t something that will change…. Could it be worth looking for alternatives? Even internally at Nike. No job is worth that much pain that I am hearing come out of that team
@2qzg+1tyoe2mM, the actual question might also be why has Nike leadership allowed MN to continue to lead such a critical part of the business? Assuming we do really care about research and building the best product for athletes, his leadership has been bad for years and the surveys and feedback given to other leaders has been there. Just another example of poor leaders succeeding and great leaders either not elevating or having their "roles eliminated" in layoffs.
If everyone in NSRL is unhappy for so many years, it’s not “why don’t you leave”, get out , but why put yourself through such misery by stating? Genuinely, no job is worth how unhappy ya’ll seem. Is there something keeping you holding on?
@1ebe+1tyoe2mM you are either a SR Dir reporting to MN or the boot li---r business development in NSRL who has nothing but to dress for catwalk in a fashion show! Each and every single researcher at NSRL is unhappy
Funny to think there is only 1 unhappy NSRL person here @1ebe+1tyoe2mM
Love the 1 NSRL person who posts 15 times complaining about the same thing. Why not find a new job if you’re that unhappy?
adidas just has a stronger team with their top 3 management layers filled with people with industry and business knowledge and team mindset. Showing the importance of common sense and a good culture.
@enp+1tyoe2mM Had nothing to do with adidas drop outs, plenty of people have come from adidas and do well.
It has everything to do with the fact adidas fired their non-product tech CEO and consultants who ruined the culture and brought in a product guy who is rebuilding trust and teams and the Nike Board somehow thinks their leadership is doing the right thing.
Also their CEO who ki-led culture still rebuild internal systems in a massive tech transformation, Nikes has delivered zilch.
Well we hired the dropouts from adidas while pushing out Nike veterans. Just look at nsrl latest exodus and hires last few years.
Consider eating thrown out moldy food from the trash and thinking you can get gains.
I love that we constantly say our competitors are just knocking us off and that is what has eaten into our market share. They just have better product. Design that resonates, a commitment to quality from design through manufacturing, innovation that drives performance and that consumers actually want to wear, and just a better run process from product through manufacturing. The leadership, strategy, and desire to have their leaders just agree with everything they say from JD, HON, CW, VA, TC, PM, and I could go on, is what has destroyed what was once a great company.
There is a lot of truth here, yup failure in under 4. Adidas may have stricter workflow processes it is to their benefit, meeting cost targets, meeting calendar and ability to make good decisions. Tired of hearing how Nk is getting knocked off when there are alot of solid tslented competitors in the msrket. Hsil to Adidas, Hoka, On and all the others for understanding your customer and building community.
Sorry Nike your brilliant strategy of neglecting product design & quality in favor of sc--wing your wholesale partners failed. Adidas is a better run company, more efficient and like it or not has momentum while Nike publicly embarrasses itself over and over again. Way to go HON & JD you have written a great case study on how to destroy a brand in 4 years or less.
