WTF is going on in GT? We now have atleast 3 new VPs....what happened to the $2B that we need to save? Does anyone think we are moving in the right direction?

they hired a CTO with no Tech/Product/Branding background.
Now hiring a CIO with Engineering experience to cover the first mistake.
Congrats JD and MM!
MD is prepping to take over HON’s role. CTO is in waiting when that happens
It’s infuriating to think we offshored hundreds of critical roles, sending shockwaves through the business (which we’re seeing play out in wall street right now), all trying to save a piddly 10k per head.
Now what did we do with that money? Apparently multiple departments’ worth of misery barely added up to enough dough to squeak in one more worthless executive.
Now that we work for the CIO can his first order of business be to allow people transfers to work under AS or ME so people have hope again? Some might be willing to learn new things with people they like and respect. Asking for a friend…
With regards to leaders in Tech that people like. AS of CIS. Worked up through the ranks from individual contributor to where he is now. Actually speaks with his team. Candidly.
Has actually been hand slapped from powers above for speaking too candidly. More importantly, he listens to his team.
Is there a leader in tech anyone actually seems to like at all?? I saw RA in a previous thread. That it?
I don’t have experience with them all.
CIO = Chief Instagram Officer.
This is a necessary hire. It's too much work to both post on the socials and pretend to perform a CTO role for which you have zero qualifications. Give her a break!
GT is awesome, getting paid for not doing work. I love this company. Looking forward to next JDI day
For those no longer at the company but still curious, what happened?
This is a CTO creating jobs out of thin air, that aren't needed, for people she favors. It's disgusting.
Nike surprises me everyday (in a bad way). CIO reporting into a CTO. The responsibility listed in the email are all CTO's responsibility with proper VPs in place. Redundancy at its peak. Is this a C level active-passive or DR strategy :) ?
Nothing quite says redundancy like a CIO reporting to a CTO.
If she is just replacing everyone that left or was let go after first round layoffs, there could be as many as 5 open spots. HOWEVER, should have taken the opportunity to re~org and cut some ‘fat’ so to speak. There are 💯 people not worthy of the title.
So who does the CIO manage now?
Unbelievable
Silly. We need to save the money, not the C level suite.
Im in GT and have no freaking clue what they are smoking
