Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is AT&T causing my me not to be able to make calls/texts?

Just curious as customer service is no help...have there been AT&T wireless outages, issues this week? I haven't been able to make calls and receive texts in batches a couple times a day...

Haha, I get it. I am former AT&T laid off during maternity leave. I just see there is more communication/truth on the boards then anywhere else in the company or to customers :(.

Don't worry ya'll, getting laid off is the best thing that actually happened to me. At the time, it was very disastrous as I had postpartum depression. I took a pay cut but have more time for family, paid out a sizable amount since I'd been w/the company for a while where the interest makes up for the pay cut, and was able to find a company that actually values my experience.

Sorry to get so desperate, time to move on to Verizon cell service!

For last few days I have been trying to makes calls from my Landline to businesses in my area (GA). I’ve been getting busy signals on numbers that should be going through. I’ve also had trouble on my end with voice mail. Folks that try to call me say it just rings and rings and then goes busy. Then there are spam calls I do not answer, it shows I have a message, when I check there is no message. So yep I think there are issues. Funny I can call those numbers from my mobile and it goes through.

First check to see if your payments are up to date with no past due. If you are current then next make sure have the bars/signal on the top of the screen. If all else fails - go to a store.

Midwest outage just. Down July 9th 10am - July 10 3pm; 29 hours.

Keep your land line. VOIP & copper are different lines. Last outage no landline, but VOIP internet fine. This outage VOIP (internet) out, copper landline fine. With both, you are protected to a degree.

Use your office phone for calls

  1. We don't know where you live. Just bc I say there are no outages in the area, doesn't mean there aren't outages elsewhere. Check here, though, it's not really that helpful for actually getting something fixed. Just "tracks" outages. https://downdetector.com/
  1. Have you walked into an AT&T store with your phone or are you trying to troubleshoot over the phone or online? He-l, have you rebooted your phone? Sometimes if they're acting up, they just need to be restarted to reestablish the best connectivity.
  1. This site is for layoffs for people employed by the company, not a place to troubleshoot your phone. Not to be a jerk, but people on this particular forum are slightly more concerned about their livelihood, bills, and if they're going to be told to move across the country; they don't give two chits about your daily affirmation emails.
