Another vote here for EH. I’ll never forget back when I started at Nike ages ago, I passed him in the hall one day and he said hi to me by name. I was shocked because he was many levels above me and I was so new to the company. Just a great people person in addition to being a great business person.

There is an incredible amount of value in bringing TP back. The wholesale partners trust him... they don't trust many others inside the berm at this point.

Next step, put EH into the big seat, and make sure he's the one who gives HON her marching orders... I'd pay big $ to sit courtside for that!

TP is a massively good business leader and and above all an amazing human. He’s old school - but knows the company better than most. Best thing I’ve seen them do in awhile. Exit JD and HoN and we might have something. ( so many would come back if that happens )

This reads like a media inquiry, but I’ll bite. TP returning was a good call. Trusted internally and importantly, externally. Not old-school sales guy, but rather, constantly evolving ethical leader. There was no succession plan because they had a strategy that removed all sales professionals. Terrible mishap. One guy can’t carry the whole turnaround, but it’s a start.

Why the he-l is PK supporting JD when everyone knows he made a mistake and it is proof with having to bring back TP. WTF is PK thinking?

Next, they're going to dig up Bill Bowerman's corpse and put it in charge of footwear design. Weekend at Bill's.

Re hiring TP is the first sliver of hope I’ve had in a long time. Hope this means the board is learning their lesson… let’s who else they can lure back to save this sinking ship.

Don’t see anything wrong with bringing back people they should’ve never walked to begin with. TP is a great leader and I hope he taps a few others to return so current teams who want to learn can actually gain experience watching these experts versus trying to figure it out from new leaders who never carried a bag and have no clue how to negotiate with the key partner leadership teams. He won’t be able to do it alone.

TO is great I bet he is rolling his eyes. I wonder if they talked to EH first? TP was an old school sales rep, so he’ll I guess they gotta haul him out. Concerning that NO ONE is there that can do that? I hope TP made them squeeze the wallet. It’s almost like Disney having to bring back Iger.

The wholesale partners do not trust existing leaders, they had to bring someone that has their trust.

Great succession planning, MM. after years of allowing the ELT to do whatever they wanted, you cannot find one single person internally that can do the job
