I have been with this company for almost a year. I find my work environment to be pleasant enough. There definitely, some acrimony in this company. That being said Meh i have seen and experienced worst.

It's named Kindrill for a reason.
25 years with IBM, 2 with Kyndryl before I retired (B10). Nearly all the poor HR and bureaucracy carried over, but much weaker leader ship, middle management not empowered to make any meaningful decisions, legacy clients terminated as forecast GP was low (under 35) extreme focus on moving labor out of EU and US, misleading clients at times on who was doing the work. Happy I retired, but truly miss the skill and structure of the day to day folks, some of the very best folks in the industry.
Overall I like working here, pay is good, they’re decades behind in how they structure teams so if you’re looking for that kind of dynamic environment, you’re not going to be happy. If you’re a heads down do your task kind of person, you’ll be fine.
Kyndryl is a garbage company to work for. A site lead for Kyndryl at one of their clients was set to retire in the fall. Well Kyndryl management played childish company politics, because the site lead looked out for her technicians as Kyndryl management was trying to sc--w them over. Well since she stood up for what was right, she got rewarded for her 37 years of service to Kyndryl by being forced out two weeks after the meeting. Not only is the corporate culture toxic, management is grossly incompetent. Clearly out the current management structure and letting the three stooges run thing would be vast improvement.
In response to (@8wfc+1tqy6GdN) now the benched people are being moved into the active seats and all the various vendors and sub-ks are taking the hit. No warning for some, limited for others and some of the vendors were converted to 1099 from W-2 with the comment of "accept or leave" when so many IT layoffs are happening. But hey, they're moving the other jobs outside of the US - because 1 US paycheck = 2 at least elsewhere.
Response to (@1der+1tqy6Gdn) Kyndryl has not been in business 6 or 7 years. You could not have possibly been employed that long. I think your some internet troll inserting yourself in to a conversation. A conversation you have no business being in. You are obviously not, nor have you ever been an employee. These conversation's are for persons that have genuine things to contribute. These contributions are for persons that have a vested interest in maintaining a career or gainful employment.
No, I don't think it is. I think the expectation of the younger crowd coming through the door are unrealistic. I am an older worker, who was taught growing up. Work is not fun, but it is a fact of life. I don't expect Kyndryl to entertain me, validate my life style, make me feel good about myself, or cure any social ills. Kyndryl, is just a company that pays me to do a job, it is a basic transactional arrangement. To ask if a company is good or bad is just a d-mb question. The only question that matters is does Kyndryl fulfill my basic needs of income to live on. If the answer is no move on, if the answer is yes. Plant your damn feet dig in and shut up. Work on the quality of your life after work.
Good advice, I am sure I have the bench in my future. I have begun to look at other opportunities elsewhere. I actually entered Kyndryl with optimism. I was not a legacy hirer. I actually pursued a career with in their corporate structure. I don't need two MBA's to know when the lights are being turned off.
It's a poorly run organization. Their sales team seems to be nonexistent or just totally incompetent. Its basically just IBM management all over again. The reputation of IBM is Kyndryl’s biggest problem. I was hoping for better but IBM did dump a lot of cr-p contracts on them. I did enjoy working for Kyndryl. I was on the bench for awhile and recently released. If you’re still at Kyndryl you really should be looking elsewhere its only a matter of time before the company goes under or you are moved to the bench. Its not a stable working environment. good luck.
The pay in the US is within industry standard and not bad, however US roles are much harder to come by now and existing ones are being phases out as we know.
Outside of that, I found that flat fast and focused was true until post TSA exit. Now it is the opposite. Once exit was complete the culture shifted to one where nothing gets done. The main positive I found is that upskilling resources are plentiful (even if disorganized) as compared to other firms, especially those not in IT services.
The money is good the working conditions, not so much.
nobody can be surprised by this. IBM knew this was a tu-d from day 1.
The short answer is YES. It's kind of gross actually.
Yes it is. Horrible!!!
Kyndryl is neither good or evil. It is just trying to survive one more day. So goes the nature of life and business.
As a rollover from IBM. I find Kyndryl made a lot of promises to us as former IBM'ers. At times I still feel as if I am still working at IBM. For me It does invokes feelings of a better time. Realistically, I do know where I am. This is a company for the modern times we live in. In this new modern times all corporations are focused in on are profits. Cheap labor anywhere they can get it. Employe as few American workers as possible. Pay the least amount of money and benefits to retain them. Kyndryl is no better, no worst than any other big corporate employer. That being stated I would never recommend this company to anyone if they are looking for a career.
It's a huge company and as with every huge company it depends. Depends on your team, your manager, your market, your project... No one can give you definitive answer. During 6, almost 7 years in Kyndryl I had few managers, few positions and projects and if I would judge through the lense of first project and first manager I would say it was terrible, but later was only better. My issue with the company is that they really pay below the market and have all the time freezes for raises and promotions. But it's like that on the market I work for. In other countries it's better. Benefits differ per country, in some countries Kyndryl cares for employees better than own mother in other they get bare minimum. In some places Kyndryl is biggest employer in region and local politicians do all to keep delivery center safe to avoid big wave of unemployment, in other places it's just one of many and employees constantly fear if their delivery center will not get shut down. If you're good, you're good. Take each opportunity that company gives you, take free education, do certificates, learn as much as possible, don't stay behind, monitor the market trends, keep your knowledge up to date and be ready for change if things change for you for worse.
