Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

For peeps wandering about layoffs/people leaving today

It's a bunch of different things. There are layoffs slotted for every month of the year and there is a calendar of all the associated activities. A lot of tomorrow (i.e. today) is RTO related but not all. As far as the waves, different people work on different projects with various critical dates so you will see those who declined to move go off roll at various times.

If you are thinking everyone in a given wave all goes on the same date, no, doesn't work that way. As it shouldn't.

People, you've all had plenty of time to plan your futures without ATT, so if you feel as though you were caught off guard by being laid-off, then shame on you for being so naive! Yes, this CAN happen to you and more than likely, will! So, forget about the 6 months of severance pay, be proactive, start looking for another position outside the company and leave when you can. Don't be laid-off on their terms, plan your own future!

Now that we've RTO, I often go wandering about just to see who's in office that day. If I wander about too long, though, I get pinged asking wth I'm not working.
