We do NOT need any leadership skills or any prior training or experience in leadership!

For a few years, I hardly saw my Dir and SD and had an average of one 1:1 with my "temporary" manager a year. The WFH years were largely a big vacation for leadership. ICs were on site busting their butts through Covid.
I have no doubt that the goal of most E band and up is to rake in the checks, do as little as possible to focus on other things in life, backstab and pull as much credit to themselves to prolong this process.
So true!!
And you can take credit and a bigger bonus for everything your team does.
And as a bonus, you can work remotely, like EC, while not caring enough to try and get the same benefits for your team.
