Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Employee Survey results ? Nope

So the “ anonymous “ employee survey we all did many months ago?
Nothing released.
I guess too many employees were honest and not wanting to share that.

It’s not anonymous. My boss literally asked why I answered things the way I did.

If you have to resort to an employee survey to understand your culture, you have failed as a leader.

The survey will show that 70% of workers are ok with working at enbridge.

These exercises are just fancy ego strokers for executives.

Good or bad - guarantee nothing will change.

Our execs aren’t looking for 100% worker satisfaction. I would guess that most leaders don’t even see the report

They typically do release that information. It’s usually quite a while after the fact to the point where you forgot that you even took a survey but they usually post some generic things on elink and your manager usually gives you some overall feedback.

What makes you think the results are intended for general release? Did somebody say that? Most likely they are going to be used to inform decision making. But airing the dirty laundry probably isn't the point.

In regards to these surveys and managers pushing to have them completed. How will they know if you completed the survey? Do you think the surveys are actually "anonymous"? and a comment based on your URL address...they will actually know ? but it goes to a 3rd party like survey monkey..so I would expect it to be safe.
Also based on your replies it would not take much to figure who says what and from what group.. and repercussions ? I will definitely stay quite and enjoy my cubicle... Thoughts ?

The survey will show that enbridge is ok to work for - which it is.

It’s not perfect.

Every single company in the world works like enbridge. There is no work culture anymore - anywhere. The best effect the pandemic brought is a refocus away from the fact that you are defined by your job - and not who you are as a human.

The myth sold to many of us whom grew up in the 80s and 90s that you should find purpose and meaning in your work is gone. Go talk to your pre-boomer grandparents - who viewed work as medium to have money to live your life and make your dreams happen.

Along the way we were told that the dream is your work.

This is why companies don’t really care about these surveys anymore - because we as a society do not view our career in this way anymore.

This is just box ticking by management and mbas and that is ok by me …. They need jobs too.

Senior leaders are embarrassed at the results cause they su-k. Likely won't hear much of anything and they won't do anything about the issues.

you are right on, the only survey I ever believed was with the people in the organization I trust, I would talk to them to get the real feel of what is going on system wide.
The rest you would just agree and then avoid them as much as possible.

In our area our Director was begging us to complete the survey! They tried everything to get us to complete it, I don't know anyone that did. I don't recall in 20 years that any survey had any results attached to it. Yes bring on the Kool aid!

By time they ever release any results of these surveys, it's so far after the fact that you can't even recall what was asked

I hear results are coming soon but they are probably not as bad as you think. Most people aren’t totally honest on surveys anymore because either no one believes it is totally anonymous or they know there will be consequences in follow-up meetings, talks, brainwashing sessions, training, etc. for the teams with unfavorable results. It’s not worth it so just go a long to get along. Nothing will change anyway and most leaders in Enbridge are perfectly fine with faking everything is okay as long as you don’t make them look bad on a survey.
