Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike became any other company in corp US

Its sole purpose is to be a cash cow for C-suite and to conjure stock value for shareholders. These days it's always a short-term affair. The more money you can extract in the short-term, the better. Layoffs, cuts, reorgs - they all happen just for some extra cash at the moment and some stock value spike that week. If a company becomes a carcass along the way, they all just move on to the next fresh prey. Why put an effort, take over responsibility and do hard work, when you can get millions just bullsh-tting through a company? You think anybody cares about employees, their families, actual product, brand, talent and creativity, long-term company goals? You think anybody cares whether Nike will be here in a few years time?

This is a 100% on point. We’re just another Fortune 100 company now. It has gone from less than perfect but still something special and exciting to bland and hollowed out

Correctamundo. No vision for the future at this company.

$2B cost cutting and workforce reduction made an impact with Wall St for about 48 hrs. Now the stock is cr-p and we have mediocre talent left to deal w the mess. j Dona a one trick pony with his cost cutting that doesn’t do what he thinks. Wall St sees past the smoke.
