Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Confused

So in August the VSP approvals comes out. Why are the blogs saying, "Verizon Communications Inc. has hinted at potential job cuts starting in August, though specifics remain under discussion." Its clear VSP.

If Verizon was really serious about saving money they would get rid of their army of communications workers. Soooooo many emails every day that no one reads.

VSP is technically made up of “Voluntary” separations, therefore no real need to report it to anyone. The RIF's that follow are a different animal, and that is why they report it as starting after the August VSP.

The VSP of 2003 still stands out as the greatest C.F. of all time. They let anyone that wanted it to take it. With no oversight at all there were entire groups that just vanished overnight. In some case from Director down... I remember one TIRKS group all quit. They finally figured it out when orders started missing due dates with no ckt design. Fun times... lol. It cost Regina N. her job as Pres of either business or operations at the time. I forget which, she kept getting different titles until the great exodus of 2003 she spearheaded happened. Basically, this isn't the 1st time the company has gone down the road blind.

Which group generate profit ?
Which product own over 50% market share ?

It's because GTS has been mismanaged for years; they have yet to balance a check book. They over commit and under deliver - that's why the business has their own IT groups.

What blog posts? What's clear is that if they don't get the number of volunteers they are looking for, RIFs will follow. And if you could volunteer and didn't, you end up with the standard severance of 35 weeks max.
