Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Two retaliation lawsuits

So we all know about the one with RL and LJ, not to mention the ongoing SEC investigation for SOX violations…

But now there’s one for NDP….

Maybe Nike and its leaders need to adhere to their own maxims… the amount of shady sh-t that’s coming out of the woodwork is insane.

DPC's leaders, directors, and managers create liability all the time. This report is not a surprise. I will be offering corroboration.

FYI- @OP+1tjwdyp6 the lawsuit is not for NDP, it’s for the DPC team.

By the way, is this the same reporter trying to get leads about layoff and left her work email on the forum?

@ytr

I've been through 3 major layoffs with Nike for the last decade and what you describe is nothing new. I've seen people get hired back within 9 months more times than I care to remember.

The amount of sh-t coming out about this company is truly awful. While I hate being unemployed for so long after being laid off, imagine what it's like to still work there? I don't imagine people are walking around proudly wearing Nike cr-p and saying "I work for Nike" anymore.

I’m 90% positive I was laid off because I worked under LJ. Despite getting told I would be with the future of Nike during my phase one conversation, then moved out of GT right after phase one. But the GT retaliation lawsuit was filed the same week as phase one. I was likely axed after that lawsuit came out.

But then I have had people I knew at Nike reach out to me about reapplying and coming back.

Nike better watch out they might face another class action lawsuit from shareholders for defrauding them over the layoffs. “Hey, we laid a bunch of folks off. Just to realize we really needed some of those people. We just paid a bunch of money in severance and will be spending a bunch more for recruiting AND onboarding costs when we could’ve been far more thoughtful about everything. Oh and we should have listened to people reporting stuff into the speak up portal, rather than ignoring it.”

Currently speaking to an employment attorney. I am hoping to file suit as well.
