for those that were laid off in April? I didn't see it on my last paycheck.
All i got was my PTO pay out.

Unless things have changed since my lay off, people don't usually get a bonus payout unless they are still employed when the fiscal year ends.
You guys could have filed your first UI claim day 1

It doesn’t. You should be doing your initial claim today if you haven’t done it yet. Just answer the right dates about ‘last day of work’ and ‘termination date’ on the application. Your first week (from today to next Sunday) will be your ‘waiting week’. Next Sunday you claim again and get paid a few day laters. Repeat every week.
Also, after your initial claim you will need to schedule a call where they verify your identity and give you info about resources to look for job. Call is mandatory. Schedule it ASAP as with many people on same boat this week those time slots will be gone and may delay your first payment.

Does anyone know how the severance payout affects when we “put in for” Unemployment? I believe I read that we can’t make a UI claim the week we receive the severance… so do we put into UI not knowing when exactly we’ll receive it, and then just skip the following week? I feel like it’s going to be more complicated that that ;) TIA for any advice, never done this before!

Bonus/PSP pays out in August, your severance will be paid within 28 days of your severance date which was 6/28. Sometime in the next 28 days you should get a direct deposit of your severance.
