3400 Plano office

What’s the parking situation there and commute like from 30 miles out? Anyone make the move and if so how is it?

So the parking at 3400 Plano do you go to company website and get placed on a list to get a card to get to the lot? That’s how it is at my present location.

Also the overflow. How far a walk is that?

Thanks everyone for the info. Been a big help

Only 2900 is shutting down, 3400 will remain open.

Who ever is saying Plano is shutting down….Do you have any idea how much lab equipment is in that building? No way that building is going anywhere anytime soon because there are no other ATT buildings to fit that equipment in. There are several labs in that building that are giant. You probably don’t have access to those doors if you are saying Plano is shutting down for good.

To the original question - get there before 9am you are good. After 9 you will be parking in overflow to the east and walking over. At 11-11:30 parking spots open up because people go to lunch / home. People start going home again around 2:30 from what I have witnessed.

Used to work there. Very crowded and noisy office. Arrive early and stay through lunch for best options to park. People prefer to Dallas because it’s much easier to navigate and free to park. Commute from 30 miles out will vary greatly depending on which direction. Central expressway is a parking lot at rush hour and tolls are rather high if you’re using 190.

There are parking spots available if you get there before about 9:00. If you leave for lunch it may be hard to find a spot when you return. I would hate to commute from 30 miles out.

Thanks everyone for the input. With all the noise about severance reduction and 5 days in office I’m sure I won’t go but just want all the info I can get for when the time comes. The people here are great and I enjoy the work. Be hard to go. Went thru the relocation game 20 years ago with MetLife and stayed so it will work out one way or the other

It's a sh-t show. And the commute is only getting worse. Tons of traffic here.

As far as the parking I have been told it can fill up quickly, so you must get there early to secure a spot and if you move your vehicle during lunch time (going out for lunch) it might be hard to find another parking spot when you return.
Definitely find out if that location will be available long term as others have mentioned.
The traffic from Plano to Dallas is heavy traffic during rush hour!

“You do you.”

There’s better jobs out there that pay more for better managed companies. If you move at your own dime for T it means you don’t have the skills to find something else.

“I’ve heard some rumors that we might be closing the Plano office and asking those people to commute to downtown Dallas - you might want to ask about that,”

I’ve had this confirmed by multiple people. I wouldn’t move expecting to be able to use Plano.
Don’t move for the company, it’s a mistake.
You’re gonna be miserable in the Dallas sh-t hole with no parking fighting for a terrible spot in an overpacked office working in hallways.

Heard they are closing schools in that area because it’s too expensive for young families with kids to live there
