Thread regarding Stellantis - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles layoffs

Is this confirmed re: layoffs?

This time will be more than 1200. So WARN act will be invoked. Names are final since last week. Now they are with HR to print the letters. 60-day notice period for employees affected. Notifications coming either this Friday 28th June or early next week (still not final on date) but will be notified before the long weekend. Cuts are Mostly in ENG and SWX but we in Purchasing are affected also. Finance, Marketing, Quality, and yes even Manufacturing white collared are affected- including at U.S. assembly plants. Only U.S. cuts. No Canada and of course no Mexico. Vehicle development and Quality jobs are moving to Mexico tech center. They are going to setup a second Mexico Tech center in northern Mexico (we as purchasing are involved in searching for the new facility).

In addition, for key roles in NA, they are bringing over plant managers from France and in certain cases from Peugeot Argentina. All FCA leaders are being replaced in a phased manner by PSA leaders. Good luck!

Putting it up for visibility, sounds legit. Found at @5irk+1t7Frppx.

I don't work in purchasing, but I heard some areas received mandatory WFH notices this afternoon for tomorrow.

Trust me you'll be working your entire life, this is a bump in the road along that journey. You're all presumably smart people, you'll make it here or elsewhere without a problem.

Are individual contributors considered 91s or are 92s included? I'm assuming 91s

A good friend in mid level management said purchasing would take a hit and individual contributors with 5+ years, who have not moved up. Launch Programs unaffected, for now.
Could not tell me if SWE or SWX was taking a large hit.

I didn't know about the WARN act at the time, but when the rumors about the GM layoffs happened they alerted us ahead of time via email... they sent out the email in November telling everyone that a lot of people were going to be laid off, then in February it all went down. 14,000 people.

60 notice period? Wtf does that mean?

You are given a letter that says your employment ends in 60 days? Thats never how it works... you are terminated affective immediately...

Proof this post is BS

Exactly right... it's fear mongering. I know for a fact that it's NOT only North American employees being affected. A purchasing manager I know said 80%. 80% of his staff works in Europe...

Yes, it's good to have an open mind, but the constant fear mongering is already overboard. Unless you can provide "proof", you can respectfully GtFO

I think swx will very much be impacted.

Heard from a few that SWX is not impacted but like someone else said, no one knows anything for sure, its all rumors until it happens.

Pure speculation. The only people who really know are not going to be posting here.
