Too bad managers in my department weren’t let go yet because they are the main reason why we’ve had such inefficient and lazy workers for so long. The fact that they didn’t do their work resulted in a domino effect where others were forced to pick up the pieces.

OP, your headline and contents are contradicting each other. Which is it?
#@1lrt+1tcksy2L - OP was a DEI hire.
Because of span of control requirements, even good managers are incentivized to hold onto dead wood.
I do agree that middle management has been ineffective, at least in my department. While I understand some managers are nice and try to treat their employees the way they would want to be treated, unfortunately they get walked on. Managers have a responsibility to their entire team so when one or two bad apples stray, sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Today some of my team members were displaced but in honesty, they robbed the company with receiving severance. They should have been termed years ago.
Several of the cuts today were fully remote people in cities with no non-retail WF presence.
“too?“
What does this even mean?
WF is the dead wood. Those being laid off are the biota who gave the dead wood a purpose in an ongoing decay.
Go Biota!
"The fact that they didn’t do their work resulted in a domino effect where others were forced to pick up the pieces."
If they were truly deadwood, others would already have had to pick up the pieces, du----s.
there should be a "Overweightness Strategy". Everyone who is over 200 lbs or is over 200 lbs but doesn't agree to lose 50 lbs should be let go.
Lets really get rid of the fat in the company!
I was told last week that I'd be affected by location strategy in Q3. If you think I was already dead wood, wait and see how I am until I'm paid to go away.
Aw, fu-k. I am deadwood and was not let go? How do I get laid off around this place. I've done jack sh-t for 3 years, I'm rude, unhelpful, remote, fat, lazy. I can't catch a break while hard-working people are let go almost every month.
Who's running this place?
too?
