Lateral move within SAP

I have applied for an internal transfer at the same T level as I'm currently at and the recruiter told me that since it's an lateral move, there is no payrise. Is this a new development in SAP? I thought any internal move always resulted in a 10% payrise.

Lateral movement with a 10% increase at SAP ? In which world do you live ? This has never been the case. You need to get a job with more responsibilities to get a pay raise. This has always been the case to avoid departments poaching employees with the 10% as bait.

This is correct . Apparently came in around July 2022, that if moves are same T levels then it’s a lateral move with no pay increase.

AI post with 5% hike, either you were on the higher side of the range already or SAP is really sc--wed after restructuring cost.

look for a side gig than thinking of getting a raise moving internally - at the end its Salaries Are Peanuts(SAP) here

Internal moves NEVER come with 10% increase, that’s just a myth. We manager give this to low in band salaries and low t-level to increase attractiveness, but there is neither a mandate nor a rule to do so. In fact, in some countries there is no increase at all.

This has to be discussed with the recruiter and the hiring manager and agreed on

You must ask for it, it is not a given. If you ask for more than 10% your L1 manager must approve.
