This is the corporate way, CEO is underperforming? Chop the workforce! JD did outline his plan to fire everyone every 5 years, so there's that.
Nike will pay its Karma. The company will fail in the future and it will be a company we used to know.

Nike is not a charity, plus it doesn't control how well people manage their finances and plan for unexpected life events. You can blame Nike for a lot of things, but not what you listed.
This is the reason why so many people in GT has side hustles like restaurants, real estate agent, and other businesses.

This layoff has also taught me that gone are the days of a 3-6 month emergency fund being enough. We should all have at least a year’s expenses in cash savings, maybe even more.
There is a lesson in it for younger generations. Gone those days where one could easily work 10-15 years in a corporation. Corporate job is so unstable. Always have a side hustle. I don't care what it is but have one. Deliver with doordash, work for Uber, sell goods on FB market place... something ... just something as an additional source of income
And the job they post are those who were let go a few months ago! Laid off principal researcher in NSRL and advertised so many research positions within NSRL!!!! What the heck! Laid off admin and hired another one! Younger this time!! Go figure
