It boggles my mind that someone thought that ad was a good idea, especially during the Olympics.
I guess our external image now truly reflects the “rise by stepping on the necks of others” culture we’ve deteriorated to internally.
I hated the ad from the first time I saw it. The writer of the article summarizes all the problems the message carries. It literally is the antithesis of everything Nike used to be and represent. Nike is not a winner anymore
“Winning is not for everyone” definitely felt personal to those who were laid off. Like being cut from the team because we didn’t live up to some invisible standards.
The best part is the irony of seeing JD's face next to phrase, "Winning is not for everyone."
Uh yeah, we know every time we look at our stock value genius.
My teenage daughters continue to vote elsewhere. This ad direction is short sighted.
Holy cr-p! I had heard about the message winning is not for every one but never watched the full advertisement till now. It is very very very cringe and narcissistic! It is anti-morale... Never ever I want my young kids ro resonate or model this message... Jeez
What a garbage brand Nike has become. That entire ad campaign feels like it was made by a crotchety, detached and indignant board of directors throwing a fit over their irrelevancy. Just die already.
