Congratulations all those that are leaving and thank you for your service.
As for all that decided to stay. I guarantee you by February 2025 you will all be wishing that you had pressed that button. Some will quit from the frustration post-bonus payout. Most will swear they will never again let the opportunity go to leave their tormentor.
I hope God helps those that are left.

So who is gonna be the first to get yelled at for putting the VSP button on their slack status?

I was also approved. I have 5 personal days to burn and it seems to make the most sense to take off the final week instead of taking time off now. anyone else doing this?

I documented all of the outstanding projects. Many are complex and important, some with months to go before completion. None the less I was gleefully “congratulated” by my boss for being accepted, as if I had won the lottery? When I acted surprised by the September release and not March, he couldn’t have cared less. The odd part I harbor mixed feelings about leaving the work mid stream and dumping it on others and all the while my leadership couldn’t care less. If the VSP is a nice way to exit, will be curious how the next cycle are decruited or RIFF’d.

I was hoping for September, but got a March departure date.

At first I was disappointed, but, I will get another 6 months pay, plus the last 1/4 of my STI, and I won't end up in a ridiculous tax bracket for 2024.

I hope it works out well for all of you, regardless of what decision you made.

Suspiciously my Sr Director was happy no one on the team applied for the VSP on a call today.

I applied. I did not take it back. Hopefully they are just considering me as not part of the team and I get an email tommorow with a sept date.

@zor+1tZ8wGHU I could be wrong but the 35% includes benefits deductions. If you just calculate an effective tax rate it's around 20%

9/13 and I’m ecstatic. Valuing whether it’s worth just taking vacation and avoid the last week of September 6.

@tpt+1tZ8wGHU dates were determined by needs of the business. Very few of the total got March, slightly more in December and most in September.

Darn 35% tax bracket if leaving in 2024 with already yearly salary. That's probably half the VSP.... Unless they pay in 2025...Just talked to someone and they said "I probably should have looked at that first".
